This study of the book of Lamentations is intended to look at the concept of pain, and to look at it from two different perspectives: 1) To view pain in a corporate or community setting and 2) To consider what we should do when pain does not resolve quickly.

In other words, where do you go when pain is widespread and when it does not look to end soon? What language do you use? What biblical categories are available to you? How do you pray? What should you think? How can you help someone who is in the middle of a season of lament? These are some of the questions that we will try to address over the course of eight weeks.

What's New This Week?

This week we will be opening up Lamentations 3 and hearing from a sermon titled, "The Hope" from Pastor Paul Vroom. As you read through and meditate on Lamentations 3, you need to ask yourself some questions:

  • How do you survive or even spiritually thrive in the midst of suffering?
  • What are the thoughts that you should have as you walk through a season of wide-spread destruction?
  • What theological truths should guide your thinking when you live in what feels like a wasteland?
  • How do you fight the daily battle to be able to interpret life through a biblical lens?

We gather weekly on Sundays starting at 9:30 AM. Hope you can join us this week as we unpack this challenging but necessary section of Scripture!
