A New "Weekly" Format

Widget (The City)Starting this week, Missio Dei Church will no longer be sending out "Weekly Happenings in the Life of Missio Dei Church" through Constant Contact. Instead, we will now be sending out the "Weekly News" from The City. Some of you may not really care what format you receive information regarding Missio Dei. Some of you will care how this information is delivered to you (I am assuming that you are also not the largest fans of The City).

Here are some reasons for the change in format for those of you who want to know:

Cheaper

Using Constant Contact cost the church around $100.00 per year ($2.00/week). While this is not a large sum of money, this is still an extra cost when we already pay for a Website and the City, and some other various subscriptions to make our Website and The City look pretty. During a time when finances are tight, we are trying to be the best stewards of our resources as possible. Closing our Constant Contact account is just one way to save a couple dollars!

Consistent

Ever since we signed up for The City as a church, we have worked hard at "talking" with/to the church using this platform. Therefore, as a way to continue promoting the use of The City, this is where we will be sharing the "Weekly News" happening within the church. As we share things like Preparing to Gather, audio for sermons, study guides, events, articles, and financial reports, we will be linking to events and topics within The City. We want are people to be connected. Outside of personal relationships and Missional Communities, The City is place for people to get connected and stay connected.

Change

Sometimes we just need to change things up. We have used Constant Contact as the platform for our weekly reminders for the past five years. Simply time for a change, a time to try something new.

I pray that through this minor change, that you will continue to stay connected to the body of Missio Dei Church throughout the week. We will continue to publish things through Facebook and Twitter like normal. However, if you are not apart of the The City and you would like to sign-up for an account, simply email us and we will get you connected. Also, for those of you who are already in The City, have you downloaded the iPhone app yet? If not, do so here!
