Get Off Repeat...A Follow Up

A few Sundays ago, I asked the music team if they would be up for staying late after church to share a meal and learn some new songs. The team accepted the offer! We made our meal into the typical church potluck. After the meal we went back down into the sanctuary for the practice.

We walked through each of the new songs and to my surpise - the team blew away my expectations for a "rough walk through". My hope for the morning was to work these songs to a high polished "product". Rather, I wanted our team to walk away from that practice with confidence. I wanted them to feel confident in the fact that they could indeed lead the congregation in these newer songs.

The reason for this post is to simply update the church family with a playlist that you could start listening to and familiarizing yourself with these songs. We often don't like surprises (unless they are a gift and even then - that is sometimes a stretch). I don't want to get up on a Sunday morning and yell "SURPRISE, HERE IS A NEW SONG FOR YOU!!" and then go through the song awkwardly. I would rather people have a familiar melody running through their head that allows them to enter into the presence of the Lord in a worshipful way.

Here are some songs you can expect to hear at Missio Dei in the coming weeks:

  • Blessed Assurance
  • How Firm A Foundation
  • Come to Me - The Village Church
  • Crown Him [Majesty] - Chris Tomlin
  • Thank You God For Saving Me - Chris Tomlin
